Meet Luna

Meet Luna, the newest member of our family. I rescued Luna from a highway in the high desert last summer, where I found her dodging in and out of traffic with no form of identification whatsoever, including no collar, no tags, and no microchip.

Already having two dogs, Sena and Kona, my original intention was to foster Luna until I could find her a good home. Showing clear signs of mistreatment and/or abandonment made it imperative to find the right match for her needs.

Meanwhile, she immediately became attached to me and also to Kona. I finally realized that the right match for her is right here with us. So Luna is officially a part of our family and is thriving on lots of love, care, and vegan dog food!

What a very touching story! I haven't experienced adopting a rescue dog but I can understand why Luna wanted to stay. Especially after years of abuse, now that she experienced love from you - it is hard to let that go!

Thank you for your comment! Luna has been a part of our family for two years now, and has really blossomed! For example, when she first came to us, she was afraid of a tennis ball. Now it's fun to watch her playfully run around the back yard with a tennis ball in her mouth, tossing it into the air and then chasing it.
