A World Without Breast Cancer

Yesterday I spent my birthday in beautiful San Diego doing a 16-mile training walk along the coast. In less than two weeks I will be walking in my 5th Susan G. Komen 60-mile 3-Day Walk. I've taken a stand against breast cancer because it's such an unnecessary disease (as are so many others) and too many lives have been ruined by it!

There are ways you can take a stand too. For instance, did you know that research has shown a strong correlation between intake of calories from animal protein and incidence of breast cancer? By merely increasing your daily intake of whole plant-based foods (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, legumes, nuts, & seeds) and reducing your total protein intake to 8-10% of your daily calories (or less), which incidentally, is the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) and has been the standard for over 70 years, you are significantly reducing your risk of ever getting breast cancer, even if it runs in your family!
