The T. Colin Campbell Foundation and Me

“Scientific Integrity for Optimal Health” boldly stands out in the header of the T. Colin Campbell Foundation (TCCF) website.(1) Based in Ithaca, NY, the T. Colin Campbell Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides accurate scientific and health information to the public. According to their Mission Statement, “TCCF promotes optimal nutrition through science-based education, advocacy, and research. By empowering individuals and health professionals, we aim to improve personal, public, and environmental health.”

Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Jacob Gould Schurman Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University, has been at the forefront of nutrition research for more than forty years. With more than 70 grant-years of peer-reviewed research funding, he authored more than 300 research papers and coauthored the bestselling book “The China Study: Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss and Long-Term Health”. His legacy is the China Project, the most comprehensive study of health and nutrition ever conducted.

Why am I telling you all this? Because today I was honored with a call from the Associate Director of the TCCF extending me an offer for a position as an instructor for the Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition that is offered through the TCCF and eCornell! And, of course, I accepted the offer!

If you haven’t already done so, I strongly encourage you to visit the TCCF website at www.tcolincampbell.org to learn more about Dr. T. Colin Campbell and his contemporaries, and the link between a plant-based diet and optimal health and weight. Enjoy the videos, articles, and interviews. Learn about plant-based athletes. You can also sign up for the newsletter to stay on top of the most current information. Who knows, you may even be interested in the Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition program! This website has a wealth of information, so have fun with it!
