I make this drink EVERY morning or one of the variations! I make it in my Vitamix blender (you can use any blender). I'm sure it's also great as a juice! Be sure to wash all the fruit and vegetables well before blending!
Ingredients:
Preparation:
Makes about 16-18 oz (1 large green smoothie or 2 small green smoothies)
Variations – try adding any of the following:
- ½ C 100% pomegranate juice (unsweetened)
- ½ C coconut milk (or water)
- 1 mini red, orange, or yellow bell pepper
- 2 small broccoli florets
- 1 C kale leaves, raw, stems removed
- 1-2 C green leaves (any combination of kale, spinach, collard greens, swiss chard, romaine, arugula, and/or parsley/cilantro), raw, large stems removed
- 1 medium apple (I prefer Fuji apples; use your favorite)
- ¼ lime, skin removed
- ~ 1” piece of ginger, with skin
- ~ 1 C ice
Preparation:
- Add all ingredients to the blender in the order listed
- Blend on low, and increase the speed until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. If you’re using a Vitamix with a “Smoothie” setting, use that setting and wait until it runs the entire cycle and turns itself off.
